[Thought I might as well put a picture while I'm at it~]
Name: Antonio Fernandez Carriedo [Nickname: Anton]
Age: 22
Gender: Male
Sexual Orientation: He's kind of in between an open and quiet pansexual. When asked, he'll answer honestly and proudly, but if you don't ask he's not going to tell you.
Major/Minor(s): Pediatrics/Dance
Appearance: Messy, wavy (almost curly) brown hair, forest green eyes, very athletic and nimble from years of taking dance lessons, tanned skin. Typically wears loose clothing such as sweatpants and t-shirts, but when serious and working, he'll wear something a little more form-fitting. Hates anything on his wrists and forearms. Around his dorm room he won't wear shoes or socks at all regardless of the weather, and enjoys wearing his sandals when he goes out.
Personality: Antonio is generally cheerful and laid-back, but he knows exactly how to get down to business and get serious. He's very passionate about those he cares about and is very protective of young children. He also knows how to make life hell for those who cross his path in the wrong way. He has trouble sensing the atmosphere normally, but there are times when he can tell exactly what you're thinking (especially when it comes to hiding secrets). He has a habit of being a bit clingy at times, even if he seems emotionally distant. He's also very friendly and personable, and enjoys playing guitar, playing with neighborhood children and dancing. Although he might not seem like it, he's actually very prideful. Not as prideful as some might be, but enough where he knows that a lot of people love him and he loves that attention. He's terrified of the mere thought of being bound though, and will avoid anything having to do with long-sleeves if possible. He's also scared of anyone betraying his trust and will only open up to a select few about his worries and fears.
History: For his entire life up until college, he had been abused by his mother. His father died in a car accident a year after he was born and it so traumatized his mother that she physically beat him and verbally abused him. He worked several jobs both day and night to stay out of the house as much as he could. He saved all of his money up and only used it to pay for the farthest university away from his home in Spain: Washington State, USA. The climate and location change was a bit difficult at first (as was learning the language since he refused to speak Spanish eventually because as he learned through many 'Go back to Mexico' comments, Americans couldn't tell the difference anyway) but with his optimism and determination, he's gotten through the initial hesitation and one can hardly tell the difference between him and just another student.
Needless to say, his mother wasn't happy at all with his choice to leave home and she ended up disowning him and writing him out of her will. He carries his father's last name very proudly though, because he knows that while he was still alive, life was normal and good.
However, his past is the reason why he has such an intense fear of being bound - his mother would often tie him up and leave him anywhere she could find, usually dark and cramped places like his 'room' which was nothing more than a tiny closet. He doesn't talk much about his past and avoids the topic as much as he can, to the point of ignoring direct questions about it completely.
This experience, however, is what created his passion for protecting children. He wants to save and help as many as he can, and being a doctor in pediatrics became his goal. Even though he can't save all of them, at least he can help as many as he can so that none of them have to go through the pain he did.
