"You had a crush on me?" Francis didn't exactly remember if she told him that or not. She probably did, since he knew she said outrageous things when she was younger. Plus, who wouldn't have a crush on him at some point in time? He was quite the catch, and he most certainly knew it. So he decided to dismiss her old crush, deeming it as just another one of the girls who had fallen for him at least once in her life, and moved on to more important matters.
"I'm not saying you don't love him, exactly," he corrected, smiling softly back at her. "I'm simply saying that you might be unsure of your feelings. I wouldn't act on them until you know for sure. Besides, you might not be able to see him again. The two of you might just lead lives without ever speaking."
He realized how horribly pessimistic he sounded, and internally winced. He didn't want to sound like a downer, but ever since he actually grew up some, he had to be forced to realize that not everything could end with "and they all lived happily, ever after." Some things just didn't work out the way they were supposed to.
Backtracking slightly, he sighed. "However, though you shouldn't focus so much on the love you might have for him, I still believe you should at least try to initiate some sort of conversation next time the two of you talk. Possibly bring up his love life, and if he's available, you might be able to set up a date."

Juliana nodded. “Yes I most certainly did! However it did cause some disputes between you and Arthur because I also had a crush on him at the same time…You two would often bicker when I would show one of you more affection than the other.” She giggled but also blushed. The little girl she once was could be really mean at times.
She listened to his advice quietly nodding her head in agreement understanding exactly what he meant and where he was coming from. Though his words did sting a little when he suggested that they’d never speak that was exactly what she needed to hear. She let her head to sink low; when did Francis become a downer? Her head perked up when he continued the positivity coming back allowing her to smile; there was Francis!
The fair skin on Juliana turned even paler at the very thought of starting a conversation with Lovino. She never started a conversation with a man! It was one: improper in her country, and two: it was like asking her to jump to the moon. There was no way she could ever do that!
“Uh…um…I…” She stuttered trying to make words come out but this showed just how flustered she was at the very thought of starting the conversation and arranging a date.
“Well um...Thats not how it works in my country Francis. In Czech Republic it is considered rude and very unladylike for a young woman to ask a man out on a date!” This was a very ironic coming from her being that she was the one of the most wild and uncontrollable of tomboys who would kick you in your shins if you dare suggest that she should wear a dress.
“Plus…I don’t how to…” She admitted quietly. “If I talked to anyone Ivan didn’t like he’d break my fingers…after that the uh…art of conversation was lost upon on me!” She said this casually. She always assumed that something like that was normal form of ‘parenting’.

Francis smiled when she told him of the fights he used to get in with Arthur. He remembered that now. He remembered how he believed he should be the one that had all the ladies swooning after him, not Arthur. Arthur was hardly the romantic, anyway. He was far better than Arthur when it came to love and romance and whatnot.
He blinked whens he spoke of Ivan and not knowing how to love. "I don't believe you should stick around this Ivan character much anymore," he muttered. Well, now he knew what to do if he ever saw Ivan- he'd call the police. No one deserved to break a young girl's fingers. Whether or not that was true, he didn't know, though. She could have been exaggerating about that.
" As for not knowing how to," he continued, a smile coming upon his face as he stopped her in her tracks. "I will be more than happy to teach you. If it is against your tradition to ask a man out on a date, you can at least hint that you would like to go on a date." He realized he would have to give her an example. Otherwise, she might not understand.
"Why don't you try it on me? Hint that you would like to go on a date."

Though she didn’t want to admit it he was very much right about Ivan. Ivan had grown up in a very bad home while in Russia…and that often allowed her to excuse most of what he did to her. She was actually forced to run away from Russia when it became too much for her to handle and since then had not seen him nor did she really want to. Yet Ivan was her family and family meant a lot to her so she felt that she had to say something in his defense.
“Oh Cousin Ivan can’t help it Francis.” She smiled to him trying to hide the small twinge of discomfort coming over her. Something about justifying his behavior always made her a little edgy…for it made her feel like she was giving him permission to do what he did. “He was raised in a very abusive home and was left behind by his sisters when he was still young. The only love he received from his parents was when they would beat him. Doing what he does is his only way to show that he loves a person enough that he doesn’t want them to be in any danger what so ever…or want them to leave him…” She muttered quietly thinking of how he would make her promise that she’d never leave him; a promise she broke with little remorse.
A look of confusion crossed her face when he said ‘hint’. What was that supposed to mean? This was something that was far from her comfort zone. When he suggested that she try it with him she looked a little horrified by the idea. It wasn’t the fact that she was asked to try right on the spot…or that Francis would be the one she said it to…it was just the fact that she was saying it to an old childhood friend and that in some way felt very awkward in itself. Juliana however figured that it was better to not bring it to light and try to go along with it.
“Uh…um…” She thought it over trying to think of something to say yet nothing would come out of her mouth. Looking up at him she suddenly raised her hand up and pointed directly at him. “Why don’t you show me an example first!”
